Job Title:Specialist Domestic Abuse Court Advisors

Department: Northumbria Police (Office of Police & Crime Commissioner)

Grade and Salary: F, £24,483 to £26,802 (pro-rata), 27 hours per week
Duration: 12 month Fixed Term/Secondment

Based at: Agile working arrangement, primarily court-based Bedlington with desk space available at Cobalt Business Exchange (Victims First Northumbria)

 

Role:

The Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Northumbria are looking for an experienced DA practitioners/IDVAs to provide a high quality, client-led support service for domestic abuse complainants whose cases are being heard in Specialist Domestic Abuse Court (SDAC) and remand court hearings in the northern magistrates courts, primarily Bedlington.

 

Employed by Northumbria Police the successful candidates will work closely with the OPCC, Victims First Northumbria and local specialist services to make contact with individual domestic abuse complainants and to provide information to the court on their current circumstances and related support needs.

Internal candidates:

Internal candidates must by supported by their current supervision to be released for the duration of the secondment, failure to do so will result in the application being withdrawn. Internal candidates who are not supported by their supervision may apply for the role on a fixed term basis. 

 

This vacancy has been advertised to all staff including those with priority status and therefore applications will be considered in the order outlined in the Redeployment Procedure

 

Vetting level: Recruitment Vetting (RV)

 

Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed.
