The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Women’s Safety in Public Places (WSiPP) Project Lead. The Police and Crime Commissioner for Northumbria is committed to improving women and girls’ safety and their feelings of safety in public places in Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. The PCC’s office has developed the Women’s Safety in Public Places project to deliver this vision and improve the lives of women and girls in the region.

 

The Women’s Safety in Public Places (WSIPP) Project Lead will manage all aspects of project implementation, working closely with specialist Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) networks, Northumbria Police and local authorities to build relationships, encourage collaboration and system change to address VAWG crime types which occur in public places.

 

 

What do I need?

 

·         A degree or have substantial experience of working in a community safety multi-agency context.

 

·         Good understanding of VAWG and experience of working with partners from other agencies to tackle VAWG.

 

·         Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to build transformative relationships and lead inclusive meetings.

 

·         Project and contract management experience, including setting up and delivering projects within timescales, identification of opportunities for improvements as well as mitigation of risks and barriers to delivery.

 

·         Experience of managing budgets for complex projects including reporting to external funders and stakeholders in line with grant agreements.

 

·         Ability to work well individually and as part of a team

Vetting Level – Recruitment Vetting (RV)

 

Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed.  A job offer will be dependent upon vetting clearance, medical information and references.
