**The salary for the role is up to £54,242* per annum depending upon experience (*this includes a market forces supplement).  This role also has an additional on-call allowance attached to it.

What do I need?

 

·       A degree, HND or equivalent qualification, and/or have relevant experience.

·       Excellent communication and team working skills.

·       Good technical skills and experience in the full Software Development Lifecycle

·       Experience with Java 8 (onwards).

·       Experience with Spring and Spring Boot.

·       Experience with Java Persistence frameworks (specifically Hibernate and Spring Data JPA).

·       A good understanding of RESTful web services and SOAP.

·       A good understanding of SQL (Oracle and SQL Server).

·       Familiarity with Maven and CI tools (Jenkins).

·       Experience of Mulesoft would be desirable but training will be offered.

If so, Northumbria Police is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Developer to work within a small team of Developers in the delivery and support of an exciting programme of technical change. 

 

As a Developer, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your strong Java, Web and Back-End Development skills, as well as your ability to effectively problem solve.  You will be able to apply your system development experience using an agile delivery methodology, to deliver and support key technical solutions as well as interfacing between some really interesting police solutions.

 

What will I be doing?

 

You will be developing new and upgrading existing inhouse-built applications and integrations as well as supporting the effective running and maintenance of existing solutions, utilising your knowledge and expertise in Java, Web and back-end development.

 

You will work with end users and affiliated stakeholders to understand the challenges that are being experienced to ensure any solution or fix delivered contributes to an efficient and effective policing service.
