As our Leadership and Talent Development Manager you will lead and manage our new talent development service, supporting our people to deliver high levels of performance and achieve their full potential.  You will oversee the development and delivery of people assessment frameworks across the workforce to support role selection, performance, career progression and increase our people capability.

You will also lead the development of a careers framework, including career pathway planning, careers advice, mentoring and coaching to deliver development programmes that maximise our ability to attract, retain and build a talented workforce.

An essential part of this service will be the design and delivery of our leadership development framework for leaders at all levels, developing leadership knowledge, skills and behaviours to increase leadership capability to meet the current and future challenges of policing.

You will have a key role in succession planning for critical roles across the force ensuring that we have the right people with the right skills to meet current and future workforce needs.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in this specialist area, HR or L&D
• Professional qualification in leadership and/or coaching or equivalent experience with a commitment to ongoing CPD
• Experience of developing whole organisation leadership development interventions with tangible outcomes and impact
• Experience of talent and career development approaches that support succession planning
• Good knowledge of people assessment frameworks that assess individual performance, skills and behaviours as well as potential
• Strategic thinking with a strong commitment to continuous people development and improvement
• Evidence of planning and delivering programmes and projects to successful outcomes
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver key messages and influence a range of stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to build and maintain good working relationships internally and externally
• High level analytical and evaluation skills with ability to draw on quantitative and qualitative data from a range of sources to inform plans  and the design and development of initiatives and programmes
• Good business management and team leadership experience
