Our Prevention Department are a busy team who support Chief Officers, Area Commanders and Heads of Department in the development of Strategy, Planning and Performance Management. The team play an essential part in ensuring our services meet customer needs – a huge challenge but a rewarding one to say the least. We’ve got an excellent opportunity to join the team as a Funding and Innovation Manager who will provide specialist grant funding support and lead on the development of innovation.
 
We’re searching for a great communicator who will be able to successfully engage with a range of stakeholders and partners at a strategic level. You’ll need to be a confident innovator, someone creative who can think outside of the box and have the ability to lead on new ideas. You’ll be working with both internal and external stakeholders, promoting and harnessing the benefits of partner relationships. It’s a diverse role where you’ll share and gather expertise in order to help deliver outstanding service to our communities. What you’ll do 
 
Seeking relevant funding via external partnership opportunities and maximising funding and income opportunities 
Leading on the creation of funding bids from inception to project delivery and evaluation
Providing guidance and advice to senior management to support concepts for business development
Organising and facilitating opportunities to create new ideas and approaches – looking for ways to create more efficient and effective ways of working
Regularly engaging with a range of internal and external contacts, as well as providing an understanding of research and national agenda to shape force improvement
Identifying business drivers both internally, regionally and nationally to represent the force at local and national forums and conferences

What you’ll bring 
 
Strong stakeholder management experience – you’ll be working collaboratively with other service departments, partners and stakeholders
Excellent organisational skills. You’ll need to be able to react quickly to changing priorities and handle a diverse, busy workload
Project Manager experience at strategic level
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to gain respect, trust and confidence of all stakeholders 
Relevant, well developed networking, partnership and support skills
Strong written and verbal skills - along with good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to influence or persuade others
