Configuration Management Analyst (SACM)

Location: Base location as required within the Force area, including Home Working

The role
:

Digital Policing are looking for a Configuration Management Analyst (SACM) to join the Digital Policing Service Delivery team. This exciting role would be suited to someone with experience working with asset information and associated data, with a logical approach and keen eye for detail.

This role plays a key part of the Service Delivery function, supporting the design, implementation, management and continued improvement of the Configuration Management System (CMS) and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

And to take care of your physical and mental well-being, we’ve invested in trained mental health first aiders on-site, an employee advice service and access to gyms in some stations.

What will I be doing?

You will use your passion and energy to assist in the planning and drive the design, implementation, management, and continued improvement of our approach to Service Asset Configuration Management (SACM). This includes the creation of the associated policy, process, and procedures.

You will use your insight and problem-solving skills to provide advice and guidance on allocated technical project matters to SACM.

You will proactively build and maintain relationships with colleagues across Digital Policing, ensuring the consistent management of the CMDB, the interfaces and all Configuration Items (CIs). This includes effective management to ensure the accuracy of the data held through scheduled and ad-hoc audits.

You will use your communication skills to proactively promote and champion the benefits and value of SACM and CMDB, maximising the value of CIs across Digital Policing.

You will also use your written and verbal skills to produce, analyse and present reports and dashboards, and will deliver support and encouragement to Digital Policing colleagues in their effective and efficient use of CIs.

What do I need?

  • Knowledge of asset management with a core focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a positive “can do” attitude.
  • Experience in planning, managing and prioritising your own workload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical colleagues.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • An understanding, knowledge and experience of ITIL Service Management practices and processes would be desirable, however training will be provided.
