Six Multi Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH) have been created within the local authority areas across the organisation with the objective of developing a holistic response to safeguarding which places vulnerable members of the community and their retrospective needs at the heart of service delivery.

As part of this new approach we have exciting opportunities for MASH Supervisors within the Safeguarding department.

Role:

As a MASH Supervisor you will provide visible leadership and direction and be responsible for the management of MASH Support Officers and their workload on a daily basis. You will ensure all relevant information is available and is efficiently researched which will inform the appropriate risk assessment and mitigate the risk when working with children, young people and vulnerable members of the community.

You will also be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with partners. You should be able to evidence your communication skills as this is vital as you will be acting as the point of contact within the dedicated MASH to ensure we work in collaboration with other stakeholders. This will enable the team to provide the highest level of service to vulnerable members of the community.

Effective and efficient planning and organisation skills are a key element of this role.

You should be able to demonstrate previous experience in a supervisory role.

You should also be able to demonstrate previous Safeguarding experience.

Roles will be based at Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle, Gateshead, South Shields and Sunderland.  Please indicate in your application your preferred work location, with (1) being your most preferred.
