The Role:
Northumbria Police are excited to be recruiting a Maintenance Operative in a Full Time permanent position to work within our Business Support Department based in Northern Area Command covering our North Tyneside, Northumberland and Tynedale areas.

What will I be doing?
Maintenance Operatives have a valuable set of skills that can be applied to all building and vehicle maintenance.   
 
On a daily basis you will be supporting the operations of the business by ensuring the building repairs are dealt with in the appropriate manner and that vehicles are checked, maintained and suitable for operational purpose.
 
You will also be involved in record and document production- including use of email, manual and electronic filing systems.
 
You will be engaging with internal and external customers face to face and via the telephone, maintaining positive relationships with customers and your team.  
 
You will be supporting many departments across the organisation therefore excellent communication skills are essential.
 
The role operates Monday – Friday between the hours of 7am and 5pm (start and finish times would depend on when the cover is required at the station you are based).
 
The successful candidate must be flexible and be prepared to work at various locations if required.

What do I need?
Applicants MUST possess a clean full driving licence (showing category B and have a minimum 12 months driving experience to fulfil this role) this information must be shown on the application form.
 
If you are looking to be part of a motivated team within a multifaceted organisation, this could be the job for you.   We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and inquisitive with a can do attitude.  You will use your problem solving skills to identify issues with minor building maintenance, Health and Safety Inspections and basic vehicle maintenance.

Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed.  A job offer will be dependent upon vetting clearance, medical information and references.
