Community Engagement Officer - JRN 10855
 

The Role
The role of the Community Engagement Officer seeks to provide reassurance and enhance community relations, by gathering intelligence, identifying emerging trends and resolving issues in respect of victims, locations and offenders to develop sustainable solutions for community issues and underrepresented groups. 

What you will be doing?
You will travel throughout Southern Area Command working directly with victims, coordinating support with internal and external agencies, establishing links with and visiting community organisations and external agencies to promote partnership working and address local issues. 

What do you need?
Excellent communication skills are required by the post holder as delivering presentations and conducting awareness sessions will form part of the role along with participation on the Independent Advisory Group. 

The role involves the review, monitoring and recording of hate crimes/incidents at an early stage and the monitoring of community tensions and completion of Community Tension Assessments and Community Tensions Summaries. The successful candidate will be required to provide timely progress reports in relation to engagement work undertaken as such report writing skills are a necessity.
