This is an exciting development opportunity to join our Business Intelligence team which is transforming how Northumbria Police access and use data.

What will I be doing?

Working within the Corporate Development Department you will be an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst confident in using analytical software such as Qlik Sense and Excel to an advanced standard.

We are looking for someone with excellent analytical and communication skills; with the ability to build rapport and understand the needs of internal customers, make the best use of data and analytical methods, and then effectively communicate findings to inform business decisions.

You will create innovative analytical solutions to real world problems to ensure Northumbria Police is a data driven organisation. You will be experienced in the use of a range of analytical tools and methods, statistical and data modelling data visualisation and building dashboards.

What do I need?

Education/Essential Experience:
Proven knowledge of data analysis and business intelligence.
Hands on experience in business intelligence and/or reporting systems.
Experience, or a hunger to learn skills in technologies such as Qlik Sense.
A good level of IT and data analysis knowledge and an ability to express this knowledge in terms appropriate to the audience which includes client senior executives, IT managers and end-users.
Ability to understand rapidly the business requirements of our clients and to assist clients into shaping these into system requirements.
Proven skills in querying database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience in managing implementation or upgrade projects would be beneficial.
Ability to think clearly, and to write clear documentation, which is sufficiently detailed, unambiguous, and complete.

Desirable:
Relational database experience (SQL/Oracle) would be an advantage
