What will I be doing?
You will be heading up a brand-new workforce planning team dedicated to bringing enthusiasm, innovative ideas and professionalism to workforce analysis for Northumbria Police. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take on a new challenge to lead the design and delivery of a workforce planning function delivering medium and long term planning and specialist advice across the whole organisation.

You will be responsible for the management of an analysis and resourcing team and will work proactively with business leads to identify and forecast workforce requirements. You will develop solutions to meet operational demand and deliver financial strategies, whilst striving to improve the quality of service to address force wide resourcing needs.

Your team will be instrumental in providing key metrics and reports to shape business performance and inform people decisions introducing evidence-based practices. They will implement opportunities to improve organisational outcomes by using people resources more effectively.

What will I need?

  • Proven people management experience with the ability to coach and develop
  • Experience of producing effective workforce analysis, providing findings, insights and context to drive decision making across all levels of the business.
  • You will have an analytical mind and will have experience in data modelling
  • Excellent attention to detail and high personal and professional standards
  • Proven track record delivery against demanding targets and timescales
  • Manage conflicting demands working with colleagues to meet expectations and provide strong service delivery.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining policies and associate procedures

Recruitment Vetting (RV)

Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed. A job offer will be dependent upon vetting and medical clearances, as well as satisfactory references.

All staff including those appointed on fixed term contracts must successfully complete their probationary period before they are eligible to apply for other Northumbria Police vacancies.
