This is a diverse role where you’ll be providing business and reception services to all stakeholders at the North East Region Prison Intelligence Unit (NERPIU). We can guarantee that no two days will be the same – you’ll face new challenges, work with colleagues with all levels of experience and generally - expect the unexpected! 

 

What will I be doing?

In this role you will provide an efficient and comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the North East Region Prison Intelligence Unit (NERPIU), ensuring the effective day to day running of the administrative functions in accordance with force and regional requirements. The main aspects of the role are:

 

• Record and action from the mailbox whilst adhering to force policies and procedures in relation to data protection and confidentiality.

• Provide a telephone service for colleagues from across the organisation and out of force.

• Plan and organise meetings, as well as taking minutes and actions.

• Collate and produce documents using data collected, use these in computerized system to report back findings.

What do I need?

• Excellent administration skills and an ability to remain calm when under pressure

• Exceptional planning and organisation skills – you’ll need to evidence that you can deliver a high-quality service to internal and external customers, as well as prioritising workload appropriately.

• You must demonstrate strong written and verbal and communication skills and have the ability to communicate at all levels

• Experience to ensure a high quality of service to our customers. 

• Experience of databases and spreadsheets

• An understanding of health and safety.

Security Clearance (SC) 

Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 5 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed.  A job offer will be dependent upon vetting clearance, medical information and references.
