Hosted by Northumbria Police, Northumbria Local Resilience Forum [LRF] is entering an exciting new era that will promote collaborative multi-agency partnership working during planning, response and recovery from emergencies, major incidents and significant community impacts across the Northumbria area.

To support the effective and efficient delivery of the partnership’s aims and objectives, the LRF would like to recruit a capable, experienced and motivated coordinator with proven experience to support the manager in the management and implementation of strategic and policy decisions made by LRF members.

Agile working patterns apply to this position where informal agile working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

The Role:

This is a revised role that will assist the NLRF Manager in all aspects of LRF activities in the provision of technical advice as part of the Forum including:

  • Adopting project management principles and working collaboratively with Strategic Board, Tactical Business Management Group and Task and Finish Group Chairs to deliver improvements.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for partners at LRF, regional and National level.

What will I be doing?

In conjunction with the LRF Manager act as one of the points of contact to provide guidance, technical information and specialist advice to the relevant members and partners of LRF.

  • Support and coordinate LRF members to create, coordinate and maintain an LRF Work Programme and to ensure effective delivery against the plan and report progress to LRF Strategic Board and Tactical BMG
  • Coordinate planning, preparation and execution of operational activities on behalf of the LRF, delivering services in line with local, regional and national best practice.
  • Participate in standing groups, providing advice on document development and being responsible for support if/as required. 
  • Assist with maintaining a detailed understanding of relevant practices and legislation applicable to the areas and liaise with other officers, departments and organisations. 
  • Assist with the preparation of the LRF budget in accordance with the host partners financial regulations.

What do I need?

  • Educated to a degree level qualification or equivalent proven ability and experience 
  • Proven Leadership experience
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Local Resilience Forums  
  • Good working knowledge of a number of key areas including the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
  • Knowledge of contingency planning
  • Knowledge of multi-agency working and stakeholder expectations
