The role:
Applicants are invited for HOLMES Indexers based in the Major Investigation Room, Homicide and Major Enquiry Team at Middle Engine Lane, North Tyneside. There is requirement to be able to travel forcewide.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a passion for the investigation of homicide, modern day slavery, complex abuse and other major crime.  

In return for your dedication and experience, we offer 23 days’ leave, excluding bank holidays, increasing to 28 days for 5 years+ service. What will I be doing?

This post represents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to be at the heart of the major investigation room, being an integral part of complex investigations, delivering a high quality service to victims of crime and bereaved families.

The successful candidate will work within a team to process documentation in line with MIRSAP guidance. You will utilize the HOLMES database to record, research and index documentation to assist the investigation.

What do I need?

Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent research, interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of the types of offences investigated by the department.  
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of MIRSAP and should have knowledge and experience of the HOLMES system and / or be prepared to undertake role specific training.
Experience of working in a pressured and busy environment would be advantageous.
