Victims First - Child and Family Court Liaison Officer

The person

 

As the Child and Family Court Liaison Officer you will serve as the link between Victims First, partners and the courts, providing support to the victims of domestic abuse.

 

You will also ensure that the victim’s with whom you work are actively updated and supported throughout the child and family court process ensuring that the safeguarding of children and potential victims of domestic abuse and coercive and controlling behavior are the priority during proceedings. You will do this by ensuring you use your close working relationship with external partners to securely exchange relevant information.

 

You will create the multi-agency response when criminal allegations come to light in family court proceedings, ensuring the correct procedures are followed to guarantee that the focus is on the safety of your client. You will also ensure that the advice given and the referrals made maximize the support given to victims and families.

 

The role will be based at Cobalt Business Park but involve extensive attendance at local courts.  Some evenings and weekend work may also be needed, as required, therefore the post holder must be flexible and responsive to individual and system needs.
