What will I be doing?
You will be joining a brand-new team and have the opportunity to develop and update demand forecasts, deliver resource planning tools and skills profiles to generate accurate resource requirements and solutions for the whole organisation. You will work collaboratively with senior force leads and other departments to identify current and forecasted workforce needs ensuring alignment with force strategy and integration with financial plans. You will interpret workforce plans, translating these into staffing requirements and perform predictive recruitment, promotion and talent succession planning. 

You will have a passion for working with data and a natural ability to extract meaningful information from complex data sets. You will be responsible for defining, implementing, maintaining and evolving workforce capability by optimising resource planning, improving customer satisfaction and drive efficiency. You will work collaboratively with specialist departments to build, test and deliver comprehensive workforce and succession plans.

This isn’t your standard Planning Analyst role; you will face thought provoking challenges and work in an ever-changing environment with an abundance of learning and development opportunities. What essentials will I need?

  • Be a logical and analytical thinker that can quickly evaluate information and identify key issues with experience in data analysis
  • Be educated to degree level or have relevant experience in workforce planning
  • Knowledge of organisational design and the resource planning cycle
  • A good understanding of forecasting variables within demand and supply management
  • Have strong communication (verbal and written skills) with the ability to understand priorities, challenge and clearly explain management information
  • Be and advanced user of Excel, including ability to create formulas across complex and large, linked data sets.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality and accurate information and recommendations
  • Have initiative and creativity in designing solutions and management information content

Recruitment Vetting (RV)

Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed. A job offer will be dependent upon vetting and medical clearances, as well as satisfactory references.

All staff including those appointed on fixed term contracts must successfully complete their probationary period before they are eligible to apply for other Northumbria Police vacancies.
