Roles at the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner (OPCC) can range from delivering education sessions in schools as part of the Violence Reduction Unit to supporting the Commissioner’s drive to provide support services to victims of crime. The Role
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner is one of twenty areas that have secured funding from the Home Office to develop a Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) and commission services to deliver a response strategy including capacity building, tactical changes, and interventions.
VRUs are a multi-agency approach designed to bring together police, local government, health agencies, education representatives and other community representatives to tackle violent crime, and importantly, its underlying causes.
Purpose:
To provide high-quality analytical support to partners who contribute to the effective delivery of VRU projects, by monitoring and measuring impact and outcomes for individuals who access commissioned projects across the Northumbria Police Force Area. Key responsibilities include:
• Collate and Analyse data from all commissioned VRU interventions with a specific focus on Focussed Deterrence by providing case tracking of targeted individuals and cohort refresh
• Produce monthly provider performance reports for the VRU Director and Public Health Specialist to monitor activity and outcomes
• Work directly with VRU commissioned providers to offer analytical support and improve data quality.
• Work alongside the VRU partnership analyst to undertake analysis of large-scale complex datasets.
• Support the Partnership Analyst in the production of SNA, - spell this out Response Strategy and Annual Report and any subsequent reports required.
• Support the Partnership Analyst in producing Home Office returns (Annex B).
• Work alongside the Partnership Analyst to develop effective performance monitoring systems, practices, processes, data sharing agreements and procedures leading to internal evaluations to demonstrate impact.
What do I need?
• Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or possess significant demonstrable experience commensurate with the role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of software skills in spreadsheets, databases, and analytical techniques including excel and Power BI
• Good understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)and the Equality Act 2010
• Experience in developing and implementing information management systems and processes to monitor impact and outcomes
• Experience in presenting data and information in a wide range of formats for a range of audiences.
• High levels of analytical and research skills, including analysis of complex qualitative and quantitative data sets such as public health fingertips data, police, and health data.
