The role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Northumbria Police as a Business Change Project Manager, where you will play a key role in transforming frontline public services and helping us achieve our Transformation 2025 vision.

The role is ideal for a Project Manager who also has Business Analyst experience and has experience working on projects delivering organisational change.

You will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of techniques to plan, monitor and control projects and ensure that project governance arrangements and principles are adhered to, ensuring projects within the transformation programme are successfully achieved. 

With experience in the use of project management methodology, you will identify the benefits to be realised, associated risks and interdependencies and raise these considerations through regular reporting.

What will I be doing?

  •  Leading and managing business change, service improvement and service re-design projects 
  •  Planning project activity and identifying appropriate resources to provide realistic timescales for delivery
  •  Identifying and anticipating risks to project delivery and putting in place appropriate mitigation to ensure delivery within time, cost and quality tolerances
  •  Working closely with subject matter experts from across the organisation to help identify improved ways of working and working with individuals to turn those ideas and recommendations into reality
  •  Utilising excellent communication skills to build rapport, engage with and influence key stakeholders, as well as being confident to challenge in the best interests of the organisation
  •  Working with key stakeholders to identify and document anticipated benefits and ensuring projects are able to successfully achieve those benefits
  •  Achieving our programme goals by putting people at the heart of the change programme, helping to implement the cultural shift that the organisation is seeking, and ensuring the operational changes are successfully achieved

What do I need?

  •  Relevant degree/vocational qualification or equivalent experience
  •  PRINCE2 practitioner (or equivalent)
  •  Recent and relevant experience in business change project management with proven evidence of successfully delivering and embedding change across complex environments
  •  Business analysis qualifications or training is desirable (e.g. LEAN Six Sigma, Business Process Modelling)
  •  Experience of process improvement / process engineering and continuous improvement methodologies
  •  Experience leading project teams to achieve defined outcomes and operating in a matrix management environment
