Transferees and Rejoiners (Constable)

Northumbria Police is one of the largest forces in the country and serves a population of 1.5 million people.

These are exciting times for policing and Northumbria is focused on the opportunities available to develop and shape the future of policing. We need to be efficient and innovative in the services we deliver as the expectations from our communities are rightly undiminished and the Force’s commitment to serve them to the highest standards remains absolute.

Chief Constable Winton Keenen is committed to reducing crime, vigorously pursuing offenders and building trust and confidence in local communities.

Achieving this depends on motivated, informed, equipped and professional people working together to deliver an excellent service.

Simply put, we are Proud to Protect.

The region has a diverse population that serves rural communities in the county of Northumberland in addition to the hustle and bustle of two busy cities in Newcastle and Sunderland. It means every single day will be different whether you are dealing with rural crime or out on patrol in one of the busiest night time economies in the country.

The North East also hosts some of world's biggest events, our annual Great North Run is the world's largest half marathon and the Sunderland Air Show each July is the largest in Europe. We are also passionate about sport and the North East is home to two of the biggest football teams in the country with the region’s stadia hosting matches for both the Olympics and the Rugby World Cup. There are very few other places where officers will have the opportunity to play a part in events that attract attention from all across the world.
