Endpoint Management Engineer - JRN 20125

Salary: Career Graded Role F to H (£26,244 to £36,369)
Location: Base location as required within the Force area, including Home Working

The Role

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced IT/Digital, technical support professional, looking for your next challenge? Would you like to join a small, highly technical team within #TeamNP, to take an active role in the support, management and delivery of operating system and client management services, across the force’s data device and smartphone estate?

You’ll take an active role in supporting police officers and police staff by resolving device configuration and device management issues. You’ll also be involved in setting and managing the security policy across these devices, ensuring that they are patched and updated to the latest operating system versions.

In return for your dedication and experience, we offer 23 days’ leave, excluding bank holidays, increasing to 28 days for 5 years+ service.  We support our people inside and out of work – offering a very competitive pension scheme, childcare vouchers, and discounts on shopping and eating out thanks to the Blue Light Card. And to take care of your physical and mental well-being, we’ve invested in trained mental health first aiders on-site, an employee advice service and access to gyms in some stations.

What will I be doing?

As a member of a small, highly specialised team you will be working independently but with the support and mentoring of your colleagues to grow and maximise your endpoint management skills in the support of both operational and back office, officers and staff.

  • Creating deployment packages using scripts where appropriate
  • Monitoring desktop systems, trends, and the progress of enterprise deployments/patch status
  • Producing documentation and knowledgebase articles
  • Supporting the implementation of enhancements to the desktop user experience
  • Active directory device administration
Currently underway is migration from on-premises Microsoft solutions to M365 services, with the endpoint team significantly involved in the migration process.

What do I need?

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent relevant experience).
