The role
 
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Northumbria is committed to putting residents’ priorities at the heart of policing, and the digital engagement officer plays a key role in this, ensuring regular dialogue with residents across the region.
 
You will be working for the Police and Crime Commissioner, Susan Dungworth and will join a hard-working team, focused on delivering a Police and Crime Plan that makes a difference, ensuring local priorities are delivered and above all focuses on the voice of everyone who lives and works in the Northumbria police force area.

What will I be doing?
 
  • You’ll be at the heart of ensuring that local residents have their voice heard. 
  • You will use your experience of digital and traditional engagement and communication techniques to engage with organisations and residents.
  • You’ll have a proven track record of communicating with a range of hard-to-reach groups and prove that you have the skills to implement new ideas and analyse feedback.
  • You will use your flair and communication skills to ensure local residents are at the heart of the policing debate.
  • Your role will cover all aspects of the PCCs work – you really will be making a difference. 
 
What do I need?

 

Essential:

  • Content Creation and Management: Developing engaging content for websites, social media, photography, online videos, email campaigns. Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and the ability to create visually appealing assets.
  • Social Media Management: Managing social media platforms, including content scheduling, community engagement, and analytics.
  • Website Management: Maintaining and updating websites, ensuring user experience and accessibility.
  • Data Analysis: Tracking and analysing website traffic, social media engagement, and email campaign performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Community Engagement: Building and maintaining online communities and gathering feedback. Developing and implementing email marketing strategies, including newsletters and promotional campaigns.
  • Strategic Planning: Contributing to the development of the OPCC engagement strategy.
Candidate must have their own transport and support the Commissioner on visits and events.
