Roles at the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner (OPCC) can range from delivering education sessions in schools as part of the Violence Reduction Unit to supporting the Commissioner’s drive to provide support services to victims of crime. The Role
We are looking to appoint an experienced Programme Support Assistant who will be responsible for providing administrative assistance across a range of commissioning and project work. The Programme Support role will be based in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and will be part of a commissioning and policy team responsible for improving the lives of communities in Northumbria.
The key objective of the post is to provide an effective and efficient administrative and operational support function, supporting the office in the delivery of the PCCs priorities. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills together with a willingness to work as part of a team are vital for this role.
What do I need?
- Excellent IT skills and able to demonstrate good understanding of Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Teams, Word and Excel.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work efficiently. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Experience of taking minutes at multi-agency meetings.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable and flexible.
- Able to communicate well both verbally and written.
- Able to function as part of a team as well as work on own initiative.

Vetting Level – Recruitment Vetting (RV). Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed. A job offer will be dependent upon vetting clearance, medical information and references.
