We predominantly welcome applications from all Home Office Police Forces, inclusive of PSNI and Police Scotland. Applications from non-home office forces may be considered at Chief Inspector rank and above. All applications will take account of the resourcing requirements and future forecasting at the aspired rank of the applicant.

Application process
We are holding regular briefings where we can discuss the Northumbria Police promotion process so that you can enter the pathway as soon as you wish and start the first steps. During the briefing we will be able to advise you of the schedule for assessment for 2025.
The first step is to complete the expression of interest online application form. Once you submit, you will be contacted by one of our professional advisors to discuss steps to complete a portfolio of development that evidences your leadership, performance and key skills at your aspired rank. There is no set timeline for completion of the portfolio, but our advisors will support you to determine a process that suits you individually.
We will invite you to attend further assessments relevant to your aspired rank which will be discussed with you in detail as your journey to promotion with us develops.
