• An ability to configure and diagnose faults on computer and communications equipment
• An ability to prioritise your own workload while meeting deadlines
• Excellent problem solving skills and a ‘can do’ attitude 
• An ability to bridge the gap between technical and business language, ensuring that the user understands any requests made of them
• Good communication skills
• Full UK driving licence

 

The Role:

 

Are you enthusiastic about delivering an outstanding End User Device service?  Are you looking for your next challenge? Would you like to join a small team within #TeamNP, to take an active role in the build, maintenance and repair of End User Devices across the force’s mobile device estate?  

 

You’ll take an active role in supporting police officers and police staff by providing them with the end user communication devices needed to support their role, resolving smartphone, radio and vehicle issues to keep them mobile . You’ll also be involved in ensuring that all assets are managed and recorded and you will provide advice and guidance in the use of equipment.
 
What will I be doing?

 

As a member of a small team, you will be working with the support and mentoring of your colleagues to grow and maximise your skills on communication devices in support of both operational and back office staff.
You will be required to:

 

• Configure, issue, repair and asset manage Communication Devices.
• Provide support to users and support staff at all levels.
• Demonstrate the use of Communication Devices, ensuring that users have an understanding of how they work.
• Review and recommend updates to live procedures, recommending any improvements to increase efficiency.
• Ensure that appropriate levels of stock are maintained to service user requests.
• Prioritise incidents and service requests daily ensuring maximum availability of devices.
• Liaise with third party suppliers ensuring that repairs are undertaken within the relevant service level agreement.
• Drive appropriate vehicles, transport equipment and materials to any Force location to support section activities.
• Update the ICT Service Management tool and associated knowledge base on repair of incidents or progress on service requests.
