Location: Base Gateshead Police Station/Working from Home
Hours: 18.5 hours per week

The role:
The Transcription Unit  are seeking to appoint an individual who will be able to provide a transcribing and word processing service, who is able to produce well-presented documents, accurate text tables and file management within the agreed timescales. They must have a keen desire to deliver an effective customer service and satisfaction. Candidates must have RSA II or equivalent experience and be able to audio type.  A small audio typing test will be given as part of the interview process.

What will I be doing?

You will provide a comprehensive transcription, summarising and word processing service in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
You will review the quality of the recorded interviews with reference to the Force policy, procedures and PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984) ensuring a consistently high standard of interview. 
As part of the role you will also assist with the retrieval and filing of personnel files.

What skills are we looking for?
  • RSA II or equivalent is desired 
  • Experience of working in a transcription unit or typing environment.
  • Experience of audio typing
