What do I need?

  • Experience of testing bespoke platforms, systems and applications as well as off the shelf solutions.
  • Extensive experience identifying testing requirements, as part of the test process
  • Technology and ICT background
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate testing activity across projects
  • Strong analytical / problem-solving skills with a logical / methodical approach to work
  • Customer Service and Stakeholder management experience
  • Strong communication, writing, consulting and client facing skills
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical and business language
  • Effective, pragmatic negotiating skills

The Role:

Northumbria Police is looking for a digital Test Analyst to create test strategy, scripts and plans in line with the standards set by the Force’s Test Manager.   The role will involve performing system integration and regression testing of new and upgraded solutions, both internally developed and third party procured.            

Applicants will need to demonstrate their experience of system testing and quality assurance together with strong problem-solving skills.  They will also have to demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills as they will be expected to work within a team consisting of end users, development resource and external /contract staff.   The successful applicant will be contributing to new critical solutions and change requests using appropriate testing standards and methodologies, including agile delivery methodologies in line with demanding time constraints to deliver to a high standard.

What will I be doing?

  • You will ensure integrity and quality of digital solutions through effective system, integration and regression testing of delivered products and solutions.   
  • You will design test strategies and produce test plans and scripts to support the testing phases of technical change delivery.
  • You will support end users with the delivery of UAT and will also offer advice and guidance to colleagues with regarding to technical test delivery, documentation and best practice.
